What Arctic Indigenous People can Teach Two Ecologists

Thursday March 29th, 7:00 PM
Alderville Black Oak Savanna

Jennie Knopp and Kaitlin Breton-Honeyman are both PhD students at Trent University.  Kaitlin has been studying belugas in Nunavik (Arctic region of Quebec) and Jennie has been working with the Inuvialuit on issues with arctic char in the Arctic region of Northwest Territories.

Both gathered Indigenous knowledge from the people in these northern communities and combined it with biological science to better understand these species.

They will share some of the amazing things they learned from the people who live connected to these species.

This is a free event but please register by phone 905-352-1008, or email jmcleod@alderville.ca
