Tim Horton's, Sobey's Plaza
An all-day visit to the wonderful Carden Plain, an unusual alvar habitat that is home to an abundance of rare grassland bird species, butterflies and plants. Jerry Ball will be our guide to this globally rare habitat 65km west of Peterborough. Loggerhead Shrike, Golden-winged Warbler, Osprey, Black Terns, Sedge Wren, Yellow Rail, Upland Sandpiper, Eastern Bluebird, Eastern Towee an Brown Thrashers are all possibilities.
Bring some lunch, water, camera and binoculars.

Accessibility: easy, short strolls from the stopping points along a lengthy unmade road.
