The Peterborough Field Naturalists is a registered charity and active club in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. We are a volunteer run organization that has been operating continuously since 1940.
Members are invited to join in on our regularly schedule outings in Peterborough, the Kawarthas and beyond. Everyone is welcome and outings are communicated on our website and our monthly newsletter. No matter your experience or mobility, we make sure we have outings for everyone.
Members are invited to join us for our free monthly meetings at the Camp Kawartha Environment Centre near Trent University. We feature unique and interesting speakers each month and provide light refreshments and snacks. Its also a great opportunity to socialize with other naturalists in our community.
The Orchid, our monthly bulletin is produced by our hard working volunteers. It is the best way to stay in touch with all things nature in the Peterborough community. Fresh articles, photos, stories, poems and maps are crafted 8 months each year for our member's enjoyment.
Members of the Peterborough Field Naturalists make exceptional contributions to the knowledge of our local landscapes, flora and fauna. Our citizen science initiatives are a great way to learn about local ecology and meet other members.
Our Junior Naturalists program is a great way to get younger family members involved in nature in our community. We hold several events and workshops throughout the year designed to engage juniors in natural stewardship and education.
Create your own projects and share your passions. Whatever you're interested in, other club members would love to be engaged! Present at one of our meetings, write an article for The Orchid, or kick off a new project. You have the support of the club behind you.
Once you have finished your membership form, bring it to one of our monthly meetings or regular outings and someone will be there to receive it.
