North Tributary of Harper Creek
The north tributary of Harper Creek flows adjacent to Rye St. The proposed Rye St. urbanization project will include adding curb, gutter, storm-sewer infrastructure, sidewalks and bike lanes. Widening of the road will directly impact the north tributary, a known spawning area for a native population of brook trout.
The City of Peterborough, and the consulting firm D.M. Wills Associates Ltd. are seeking input from the community on how best to protect the trout habitat.
Initial comments to aid in development of sustainable solutions can be submitted to project leaders until September 6th, 2016 (please refer to the link below). Note that this is a first phase of the Environmental Study; public input and collaboration will be welcome throughout the project.
Your knowledge and experience are critical to a team seeking innovative methods to protect critical fish habitat.
