Ontario’s eight species of bats play a critical role in the province’s ecosystems as nocturnal insectivores.  They are considered one of our most valuable species groups for agricultural pest control.  The recent spread of white-nose syndrome has caused concern for the future of many bat species in Ontario, making bat monitoring and conservation more important than ever.
