Ontario’s insect diversity near and far (with particular reference to biting flies)
2019-03-13 @ 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM
Ontario is blessed with an abundance of biting flies, including mosquitoes, horses flies, deer flies and stable flies. While most of our interactions with biting flies are unpleasant, they have important functions in our ecosystems and so have value in terms of conservation. This talk by David Beresford examines biting flies as pests of wildlife and livestock, as well as their possible conservation relevance. David Beresford, holds a Ph.D from Trent University where he now teaches entomology .
