Saturday, August 24th, Shorebirds and Monarchs, Presqu’ile Provincial Park 7:00 a.m. Sobey’s parking lot adjacent to Tim Horton’s in Sobey’s Plaza, Lansdowne Street West Martin Parker and Matthew Tobey will lead this annual outing to Presqu’ile Provincial Park to view the gathering of shorebirds as they are making their migration from their Arctic breeding grounds to their wintering areas, primarily in the southern hemisphere. PFN Juniors: BioBlitz at Kawartha Heights Park (SW Ptbo)
Let’s identify all kinds of plants and animals – it’s active exploration and learning. We’ll wander through the park and learn how to use field guides and iNaturalist to identify and document the species we find. Plants will be our main focus since they stay still while you take pictures, but we’ll also dabble with insects and other life - open exploration is the focus.
